I figure it is about time to actually do some real work on my Daemonkin army. I have had all these minis just sitting around since Daemonkin came out. One of the questions I have is the gauntlets. Are they gloves which are painted a different color or are they metal and painted the same as the armor. I want to do a fluff army so it won't be a very competitive army. Which it could be if I learned how to win. Lol i once read in an old white dwarf that not all khorne berserkers are world eaters but all world eaters are khorne berserkers. What constitutes a khorne berserkers? Is it the helmet? Do all the minis have to have those specific heads? Would it be better to have just the berserkers as world eaters and the rest of the army a different scheme? I was honking maybe have the army as a break off of iron warriors that have given themselves over to khorne and hence they became Daemonkin. With the berserkers as just a couple of squads who show up just to kill maim and burn. And should they be in rhinos or make a big blob of berserkers just running up the field to overwhelm the enemy.

rapid fire
1) gloves- up to you, I always paint them same as armour
2)what constitutes Khorne Bezerker? Giving up fully to Khorne, that's it
3) Helmets- doesn't matter, use whatever you want. The "bunny ears" as some refer to them, were started in the World Eaters (look at the FW 30k veteran upgrade pack), but they have moved to other bezerkers too, but its by no means mandatory. BTW it is a stylized Khorne symbol.
4) Iron Warriors - totally works, in fact they are the World Eaters only blood brothers in 30k (and vice versa). even though the iron warriors are siege specialists with really big guns, pretty much every siege ends with a brutal assault action. that should have put a bit of a blood lust in parts of the legion.
5) big vs. small squads - remember in daemonkin, the more small units you have, the more chance for blood tithe points. If 2 squads of 8 die, you get 2 points, if 16 die out of 20 you have no points and a useless, neutered squad of 4

To add onto point (5)
-A failed charge with 1 unit of 20 is worse than a failed charge wiht 1 unit of 5 (and a chance to get 5 more marines in there)
-The overkill on small squads from shooting diffuses enemy firepower - especially when 1 marine eats a lot of Tau overwatch
-Single survivors can hide and be diffult to pick out
-Fearless totally negates issues with morale and squad size
-4 small squads can setup multi-assaults without incurring a disordered charge on more than 1 squad (charge 1 squad into both targets, lock them into the same combat. Then charge the other squads into single units. You get a massive combat resolution accross the whole, do not lose bonus attacks and might stay locked an extra turn to wipe out anyhting left.
-4 small squads can tote around more champions to bear specials weapons

Don't forget, its khorne, so min squad size of 8 for all troop choices

I thought with the wording, each squad would give you 2 points it has the champion in it. I think it says he dies or kills something in a challenge.

Possibly, personally as a world eater player that doesn't feel right to me. I wish GW did FAQ's still. Then again, with the meta today of decurians and gladius and war conclave, maybe it is a nice equalizer

I always read it as if he dies in a challenge

I've heard it both ways and I have no idea what to think. I guess I'll go by whatever the tournament rules say at the time.

Ok. Go with an 8-10 squad. Should they be in a rhino to go kill or foot slog it across the board? You can't assault out of a rhino which will cost an extra turn to disembark which I guess could turn into about the same amount of turns to pretty much walk across the board while running also. Also with the helmets. If I use the berserkers as world eaters fluff wise I should keep the helmets? But if I don't use them as world eaters then I can use any helmet and say they are berserkers?

Definitely would keep the helmets if you use as world eaters, just me though you don't have to. Also not necessary if not doing world eaters

If you take the rhino, not only is it objective secured, it's also another chance for a blood tithe point when it dies.

I've almost thought that deamonkin would bring back rhino rush because its never bad for you to take one and you can take a lot of them and fill them with whatever you want. "Hurray they killed a rhino! Now they have to deal with my 5 other ones filled with berzerkers lol".

I think if you wanted to do a fluffy world eaters army, Maybe do I mash up of legion colors and berserker cult marines. Your tactical/chaosen/bikers/raptors could be the standard legion colors, while berserkers/possesed/warp talon could be the brass and red of the chorine we all know and love. It would give you some variety in color schemes, and you wouldn't have to differentiate between units by their heads.
My only question is, are their eyes going to be glowing?

I would love to. But I am not at that good enough yet and don't know how to work it. Any advice about how to do it would be nice

You're the LED master, not me With all the new calth stuff, it'll be easy to blend the chaos bits with old legion attire.
