I finally caved and purchased an airbrush - I intend to do some broad painting of terrain first to start refining my skills with it - but more importantly right now is to answer the question...what do I do with it?
I purchased a Badger Renegade Velocity - Gravity Fed, Double Action
I know there are tutorials online - but anything anyone found particularly helpful?

Watch one or two tutorials for the technique you want to try and then test it out for yourself. My badger came with an exercise sheet perhaps your instructions include one as well. If you have never airbrushed that could well be a good place to start.

This is a fairly new tutorial, but I think it is really well done. It goes over a bunch of basic techniques that produce a great result. I'm gonna try and use it on my tyrants.

I like schnauzerface's videos on youtube if you search him.
C'tan has some good content on his blog if you dig through it. Should be able to google "c'tan blog" fantasy painting or something.
Practice is key. You need to get confortable thinning paints and adjusting PSI on the fly. I would start on paper and play with your distance to get confortable with visualizing where the paint will focus. Make sure you clean the tool regularly - every 30min or so. Large models are easier to airbrush so maybe practice on one of your SoB vehicles.

I finally had a chance to sit down and look at my Airbrush setup - I just bought the Badger Renegade Velocity 1 - no other peripherals. After some research I noticed that the Badgers do not have a standard sized hookup for the compressed air.
This meant I had to either order a Badger hose or a converter. I ended up ordering a quick connect hose this afternoon - more details on how the setup works will be forthcoming.
