Many rumors going around about new warhammer fantasy rules. What are the chances of getting some rumors here? 1) Are they gonna have new races in fantasy and get rid of some? I wanna get started in fantasy but dont wanna dish out the money for armies that have a potential of being discontinued. Any other rumors would help. I know its not facts yet but something is better than nothing when starting out.

I don't think we'll see any new armies right away or that they would axe any existing armies but this is GW we are talking about so anything could happen. The trend I am hearing on the different forums is that armies will be able to be lumped together. For example, Chaos Warriors, Beastmen, and Daemons may all be combined into one army. Same goes for High Elves, Dark Elves, and Wood Elves. That would leave the Empire, Dwarfs, Bretonnians, and possibly lizardmen getting merged as well. Vampire Counts and Tomb Kings would most likely get merged so that leaves the skaven, orcs, and ogres as wild cards.
I'd hold off on any armybook purchases in the near future but I would think that, model wise, you would be ok with any purchase between now and the new edition.

I feel as though I am an Ogre player through and through. I'm just sitting still and holding my breath till the dust settles

Yeah, it looks like so much is In the air. Best bet would be to wait a few months. That said, if something grabs your eye, jump on it.

I track the rumors pretty regularly for 40k and fantasy. The consensus seems to be that fantasy will be getting consolidated - but what armies die (other than Lizardmen who it appears are gone) and how they will looks is a bit up in the air. I think the books we see coming out are pretty representative of the likely direction.
-WoC, Daemons, Beastmen one faction -Dark Elves, Wood Elves, High Elves one faction -Tomb Kings, Vampire Counts one faction -Empire, Brettonia one faction
After that it is hard to tell what the fate of the Skaven, Ogres and Dwarves will be.

There's some talk that Skaven will be lumped in with Chaos (due to their current alliance in the End Times Fluff). Dwarves may be lumped in with Empire/Humans. I've also seen Ogres put in with Humans, but that seems like a stretch.

It sounds possible that multiple armies may be in the same book. So is a book gonna cost about $100? If it has more than one army per book? Maybe i should stick with 40k unstead? I like the fluff of fantasy but it is gonna be weird with round bases. Especially for skaven and goblin players who have hoards of minis to move. It will take 20 minutes to move yoyr whole army.

I'm not making any judgments till the dust settles. Also I'm waiting for end times to end and them to put out all the books in a set. Should probably start putting money away for that will probably be $200+?
I've been following the death tolls online for end times and have tried to research Ogres, did see a mention online that their land was destroyed and there was a giant diaspora and Ogres joined most of the sides, kinda like a race of "maneaters" (dogs of war reborn?)
I do have to say, I felt that when I got back into Fantasy there was something about Ogres that felt like it was the perfect fit for me, they were me. Heck while I was painting them for DaBoyz GT, I would open doors with my belly. My own little impact hit. If somehow they were gone, I would cry. It would be like the loss of a family member. Would probably take a year or two before I could move on.

GW already has movement trays for round bases... So movement of mass armies would not be an issue. See the LOTR movement trays. They are also ranked REALLY close to one another. I don't think round bases will be that big of a problem.
