Sanguinary Priest. New rapier chainswords are pretty sweet.

Looks good, especially the red robes. In comparison and it might just be the pic, the gold looks a bit flat. Might also be the darker gold shade with the red too, it is so hard to tell with pics sometimes

Koszka gave me the tip (funny if I type it that way) of washing gold with a purple wash. It looks pretty hot.

Huh, I may have to try that some time. Right now I use a bit of Nuln Oil in deep creases, then do full coverage with Seraphim Sepia. Thanks!

There was a great NMM for gold article when the Sanguinor model first came out. They use a purple wash in it as well, plus a yellow wash and bring the color up with Bleached Bone (or new equivalent) starting with Calthan browna and Snakebite leather. A hit of black in the recesses definitely helps too.
I think it just contrasts a bit because the colors are so rich in the rest of the model.

I'll show you my gold technique I used for my daemons sometime. I used the snakebite leather as a base for shining gold on my Necrons, and that comes out great, but the burnished gold (or equiv) I think looks weird with brown base on my daemon parts.
I wash the burnished with sepia then do wetblending of mithril and burnished to get the edging to shine on the gold claws and stuff.

Say Chris, do you want a Free Baal Predator w/Flamestorm Cannon? It's just on my desk looking like a sad puppy after a dude gave me a BA lot for a really good price.

Update on the Blood Angels: finished out the tac squad with a flamer and four bolters, currently working on a set of Sanguinary Guard and a Furioso Dreadnaught. Started flocking bases on a tip from dudeisuck, the contrast between the green flocking, drab bases, and red armour I think looks pretty good. Replacing most white with black, partially to match with my earlier army, partially because I still haven't found a white that works very well. Usually clumps up and paints on rough. Anyone know a good white paint?

Continuing the Blood angel adventure, 5 brand spanking new Death Company. Each bloody bugger is sorta like painting an independent character! The Sanguinary squad is actually mostly done as well, except for the banner. All i have left to paint for the GT is a Plasma Devastator Squad, Jump Chaplain, Culexus... and well... an entire Cerastus-Knight Castigator. Any tips on painting forgeworld resin or on painting knights?
