I want to try out the new book at the tourney at Pair o Dice games next month. here's my first attempt at a list, I tried to not use most of my daemons so that I can summon them. Also I don't have any of the Daemon engines and have no chance of getting any before the tournament.
I am using the new formation that gives you an extra blood tithe point and an extra benefit from the chart when I "cash in" blood points. I made a lot of small units to hopefully get points quicker, using the "lone Wolf" idea of kill it and its good for me or let it live and it kills stuff (also good for me)
Slaughtercult - 964 points
Daemon Prince - wings, Collar of Khorne (+2 to deny the witch), combat familiar, Blood forged Armour (3+ save, feel no pain, eternal warrior) - 280 8 Marines (BP/CCW)- Power fist - 155 8 Marines (BP/CCW)- Power Fist, Icon of Wrath -175 8 Bloodletters - Bloodreaper, Banner of Blood - 105 Spawn - 32 Spawn - 32 5 Possessed - Rhino - 185
Auxiliary War Engine X 4 Hellbrute - 2 Power fists each with built in Heavy Flamer - 130 Hellbrute - 2 Power fists each with built in Heavy Flamer - 130 Hellbrute - Twin linked Lascannons, Heavy Flamer - 140 Hellbrute - Twin linked Lascannons, Missile Launcher - 135
For Blood Tithe summoning I have 3 units of 8 Bloodletters, a Skull Cannon, 1 unit of 5 flesh hounds and 1 unit of 3 Bloodcrushers
Things in the army I don't own yet - Cultists, Helldrake, Defiler, Soul Grinder, Forgefiend, Maulerfiend and a Bloodthirster

With 4 Hellbrutes, there's a good chance 1 or 2 may survive to do things. I approve

I bought this book too, I really like the changes it has - no instability, fearless daemons, daemons joinable by csm and the flexibility it brings to the force org. Let me know if you want to borrow any vrishers (I have 6), hounds (I have 36), skull cannons (2), or helbrutes (3).
Having played the brutes a few times, they die horribly, constantly. I really think the formation is better for them but I get the idea of filling out the daemomkin formation.
I really like the concept of some small sacrificial meat shield cultists in there to up the tithe too

I have had an idea for cultists for a while. I want to use flagellants jus need to find 35 autopistols.
I figure my most critical purchases for this army are a Bloodthirster, soul grinder and Maulerfiend.
I'm mad at GW a bit for my skullcannon. when I built it the codex didn't have any attacks for the Bloodletters so I made them a command squad, FAQ came out a month later(like a year into the life of the book). haven't started painting the cannon, but I need to get a crew again.

Did you turn the Herald it comes with into an actual Herald? You can easily mount him on the back, and as a bigger Bloodletter he can provide some attacks.
I have the Skull Cannon model for one of mine, and a converted Ogre Kingdoms Scrap Launcher (or gut cannon or whatever it is) with the herald on the back of it and the Blood Throne base.
Edit: I also have an extra grinder I wouldnt mind parting with - flirted with running 3 at one paint, but I have too many projects. It is glued, off the sprue and partially assembled - for painting. The body is assembled, but the legs are not on and the top part is not glued down. The flesh is painted with the albino white of my Bloodletter - it would be easy to wash it to a red if you wanted. I would be willing to part with it for 50-60% retail.

That sounds like something I could do. I'll be playing at Millennium Saturday. Any Khorne specific bits you don't want could be put to use. I guess with Daemon Primarch Angron probably showing up in FW 30k before the end of the year, it might be time to work on berserkers and daemons for a while.
Also I was looking at the formations and I like the terminator/Bloodcrushers formation, you get an extra attack if outnumbered. I have 9 Lightning claw termies waiting for paint. it's 125 points a squad and I can deep strike them, then charge the next turn. they would get 6 attacks on the charge or 5 if charged, so even if one survived, it could cause problems in a backfield. not much off of the price that people used to pay for a lone wolf in terminator armour with 2 wolves. plus I thought to make up a 2 combi melta, 1 chainfist squad to take care of vehicles too.

Just played against Craig today at the new two kings. He used the tyranid spore field. That thing is a Blood Tithe gold mine. I summoned a Daemon prince turn 2 (had the 1st turn) and a Bloodthirster turn 3. Also summoned flesh hounds turn 4 and Blood crushers turn 5. It's kinda funny sometimes rooting for your own models to die, kinda like what its been like to be a Sabres fan this year.

That sounds like a pretty sweet deal, as well as a perfect counter to MSU spam armies. This style of army and list would poop all over the scout spam that won the LVO, etc. GW adding more to rock-paper-scissors-lizard-spock. I like it, might go back to people taking more TAC lists.

I changed my list to get rid of things that didn't do anything, such as Power Fists on Champions that turn into a daemon prince/Bloodthirster before they get a chance to swing. I also took out the 2 power fist Hellbrutes and added a Soulgrinder. I also bought rhinos for the 2 marine squads, partially for more blood tithe points and also for objective grabbing if they are ignored.
List 2.0
Slaughtercult - 1039 points
Daemon Prince - wings, Blood forged Armour (3+ save, feel no pain, eternal warrior) - 250 8 Marines (BP/CCW) 130- Rhino (35) - 165 8 Marines (BP/CCW) 130- Rhino (35) - 165 8 Bloodletters - Bloodreaper, Banner of Blood - 105 8 Bloodletters - Bloodreaper, Banner of Blood – 105 Spawn - 32 Spawn - 32 5 Possessed (150) – Rhino (35) - 185
Auxiliary War Engine X 3 – 460 Points
Soulgrinder (135) – Sword (25) Phlegm (30) 190 Hellbrute - Twin linked Lascannons, Missile Launcher - 135 Hellbrute - Twin linked Lascannons, Missile Launcher - 135

Dont the princes go to strength 10 if you have a fist when they pop? i thought they allowed the DP to keep all gear and a MC strikes at initiative for unwieldy weapons.
If you are taking bloodreapers,i would put an axe of khorne on them for ID and AP 2

This is very encouraging for chaos players. I can't wait for a Nurgle book. Y'all are in trouble when I can play my daemons and CSM/zombies together as 1 source.

I would love too, but bloodreapers can't take an axe (heralds can't either) but space marine champions can. Also with DP you only keep warlord trait and artifacts of ruin, you get the armour free and wings if the model has it.

My daemons with noise marine backup! So excited for the cult books. So the replacements work the same way as the 65-66 roll on the CSM boon table. That's cool, and prevents I8 powerfist shenanigans.

Not too bad too if the prince only gets wings if the host had them originally.
Can't wait to see what the Nurgle tally does. Looks like I'll have to add in some advanced targeting systems on my tau and sniper rounds to pick out characters.

I am surprised on the reapers, I had assumed them identical to the Chaos Daemons ones. Bummer on the other equipment, would have really pushed the possession over the edge to be truly awesome.
