Was coming here to post this. I'm hearing a LOT of mixed opinions on the new robots. I for one, welcome our new robot overlords. They remind me very much of the Contemptor style dreadnought, and I really like the design. Those battle servitors are the tits though, I want 9.

can't wait for those tech preists. On the other hand, I'm going to have to do a lot of work to get those big robots and servitors in line...

So, rules got leaked. Kastellans are just 30k Castellax, with a reasonable point cost. The Datamancer can give them FnP, Double Attacks (But can't shoot) or Double Shooting (but can't move) for a turn. They're WS3 BS3 T7 W3 3+ armor 5+ Invuln, and any saving throw of a 6 reflects the shot back at the firer. Hold onto your pants everyone.

I like the idea, but those models are in desperate need of conversion work. If the box set each comes with a data smith and two robots I could see this unit popping up quite frequently.
I love the torrent flamer on them!

Interesting unit for sure, tho if the rumors are correct about choosing your programming at the end of your turn to take place during your next turn, the unit will be super easy to out-play. Ie. they choose "shoot twice, can't move" at the end of their current turn, you move to protect possible targets.
Interested in seeing the full rules also. The little dude has a str6 armorbane pistol which is awesome I guess, but if the best gun the big guys get is str6 there's some wasted potential there.
I do like MC's in units and hope to see more of this in future books. Interested in seeing the full rules also. I haven't read the codex yet, but seems to me like Admech will be "proficient at all, masters of none" swiss army style. They'll have some really good shooting and unique assault units, but won't outshoot tau/eldar/IG and won't outfight tyranids/daemons. With lower T and worse armor than space marines, this puts them in a tough spot.

I would like to know what canticles of the mechanicum is. Also, depending on relics, IC's, and specialist wargear this unit could be really good.
So, IC's can't join monstrous creatures. Will that rule be in effect for this unit? I hate when grey areas appear in armies. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that skitarii retain the troop slot in this book. If not i'll probably stick with the skitarii book.

Found out that, Canticles are a cumulative rule, that give a 1 use only bonus to the army, which is stronger for more Cult units you have in the army. Guess this is a MSU type army. At least, this is what the rumor mill is saying.
