Hi everyone. How far away does this particular gaming group spread out? I saw it was listed as western and central NY. I've always found one of the biggest issues with playing 40k in a small city (Ithaca!) is that there just aren't that many other players around. I'm loathe to travel far to play, as I have kids. Where are ya'll from?

"This group" ~ The Grand Strategery: We're a small club with members in Buffalo (sinistermind), Leroy (grubnards), Rochester (me, dudeisuck, crimthaan), Syracuse (calypso2ts), and Watkins Glen (Crispy).
"This group" ~ The people that use this forum: You'll find members all over WNY. We as a club have been trying to unify the various WNY clubs, stores, and events to build attendance for tournaments across the board. As such, we've extended invitations for all WNY clubs and regions to use this forum as a communication tool.
I'm not sure about Ithaca players, aside from Crispy in Watkins Glen. But I'd like to think we have some lurkers close to your area that may speak up and help arrange some games.

Let's not forget the people out in Erie PA. I haven't run into many of them recently, but there's a great group too.
In terms of players around Ithaca, we have a large fantasy community if Horseheads and then a smattering of 40K players in Elmira & Corning. Elmira has a store, but there's isn't much community there. It's mostly magic & Yugio.
I go to Rochester for their monthly events because: 1) I know that I'll get in a few games, and 2) the people are great.
Just want to let you know Nalathani, come on out to Parkhammer with the family (see the post in the announcements section). It'll be a good time, and you'll be able to meet a large chunk of the upstate 40K community.

I'm out in Walworth, the armpit of Upstate NY, so that counts.

Good to know. We at one point had about a dozen active members (like 5 years ago), but there was a mass exodus from Cornell and we're down to 4 of us at the moment who play weekly. I've been advertising on facebook and at the local game store, trying to find people. Looking forward to seeing new faces in a month! My car will be packed with children so I'll bring a board game or two, and I might convince someone else to bring along my terrain and some bugs for someone to shoot up.

nice, there will be other children there too. My wife and son (20 months) will be there. The park's giant swimming pool is right across the parking lot from where Parkhammer is.
