Hey yall its Greg, I think this is my first time posting here and I wanted to try and get more involved with the grand strategery. So I thought a good way to start this off would be to get feed back on my possible Daboyz list. I am determined to make the Genestealers work because they are my favorite unit in the game and I really like the list so far. But I would love to here some feedback.
HQ: Tyrant(165pts+twin-linked devourers 30pts+wings 35pts+Shock Grubs 10pts) Deathleaper(130pts)
Troops: 30 Termagaunts(120pts) Tervigon(195pts+Crushing Claws 15pts) 20 Geanstealers(280pts+Adrenal glands 40pts+Scything talons 80pts) Broodlord(60pts+Adrenal glands 15pts)
Elites: 3 Hive Guard 165pts Venomthrope 45pts
Fast Attack: Hive Crone 155pts
Heavy Support: Mawloc(140pts) Exocrine(170pts)
Total: 1850pts

a) Still love Deathleaper b) No regeneration on any of your big guys? c) You are kind of lacking in synapse, maybe the norn crown on the Tervie?

I was just wondering, That's a lot of points dumped into that stealer squad. What if you drop the adrenal glands and scything talons and just go for poison sacs? Adrenals only give you furious charge ( you already have fleet!) and the scything talons, although give you an additional attack, are a bit pricey per model.
Poison will be your friend when you are trying to tear T5 or greater. When up against T3 you get to re-roll your to wound rolls!!
If you were to make this adjustment and remove the venomthrope, You'd have points to buy a malenthrope and that norn crown. Hell, you could sneak some devourers into that termagant squad too!

Yeah, I knew I was lacking synapse, the crown could be very helpful. I gave all the genestealers adrenal glands because I thought I didn't have much that could deal with knights so if they all attacked a knight they all have a chance to glance it to death instead of just the Broodlord. I really wanted to put regeneration on but I didn't have the points but if I do get rid of the upgrades for the stealers I could fit some in. I also had the venomthrope to give the genestealers some cover if I can't infiltrate them massively close, then I daisy chain them to get shrouded from where the main group would be.

At the most you'll be fighting a single knight.
Crone + Flyrant + hive guard = 6 HP gone. I think you've got that base covered! Don't forget that crone has a str.8 ap2 vector strike!!

Yeah that's why I put the crone in, to take out flyers and slowly dwindle HP or wounds on tough models. But yeah you're right, I'll take some points away from the genestealers and stick them elsewhere. Also on a slightly related question, when do knights decide what facing there shield will be on? Shooting phase? Beginning of my turn?

Shooting phase but once decided if im not mistaken it lasts till their next turn.

Nice!
Have you thought about that malenthrope? Synapse venomthrope with more toughness, a better save, and some cool rules to boot.
An awesome way to fight a knight is if your flyrant gets warp blast. Since you choose your facing during the shooting phase, You can fly behind a knights shield placement sneak a warp blast in!!!

A small technical issue, is the brood lord a squad add-on or is he an upgrade character? In other words, is the squad 20 dudes or 21?

I do not have a malentrhope model and I don't have the rules for it. I am a little strapped for money at the moment, cuz I am finishing paying my tuition. I might be able to convert one depending on my bits and if I have a base of the same size. Also it says under the Genestealer Options: "May add a Broodlord....60pts". It starts off at a squad size of 5 and says "May include up to fifteen additional Genestealers" so I am assuming the Broodlord can just be added to the squad.

Hey Greg, thanks for posting here and taking more interest in TGS.
For those of you who don't know, I believe Greg took "Top Local" spot last year with his grey knights at DaBoyz GT. I could be wrong, but if so, he at least finished above me which always sticks with me ;-)
The list looks solid for sure. Genestealers were my favorite back in the day. Two units of 20 were my preferred starting block, but that was when cover saves were 4+ standard.
I wouldn't worry too much about synapse as long as your deployment is smart and movement is purposeful. Keep the pressure on and most armies don't have the resources to handle incoming gribblies and focus down synapse units at the same time.
As with this type of list and army, I recommend playing as many practice games as possible. It's more about using your tools properly based on established successes, and not searching for the "perfect list".
Nids area finesse army in highlander format, and very unforgiving. It's more important that you know how to handle each scenario, because nids will never have a magic "win every game" list.

I think I got a little lucky there at the last Daboyz, fighting 3 Demon lists in a row with Grey Knights but thanks bud. I will try to get some practice games in, I know for sure I will be bad at positioning my gaunts on objectives and I need practice where to move my spawned gaunts.

Question, do spawned gaunts count the same way as summoned demons? I was reading a different thread about someones demon list and saw that he couldn't summon another herald if he had one. Does that mean I can't spawn another group of gaunts because I already have one?
