Nogle, If you ever want to bounce ideas/ list builds / tactics just give me a heads up. I mean, I'm only a bike ride away ( or a block if I'm at work)
I think 40k is getting a bit bloated and its difficult to keep track of all the sources, but it's pretty awesome to have so many choices. As a conversion nut I find this flexibility to be a godsend for me ( making the mechanicus army of my dreams. hahaha).
Its hard when what we want in a hobby becomes a double edged sword. But yeah, free shit in formations is stupid. I'm fine with people falling into this gimmick, but god its frustrating to see en masse at GT's. At NOVA there were so many gladius builds.
Yeah. Obj.Secured centurions/ command squads/characters/dreadnoughts is a but ridiculous (backed by an armada of free razorbacks/rhinos).

Because they aren't doing them, forgeworld is. From the days of the warhound titan through mass ig tanks up to 30k, FW gives fans what they want. The one game that I think will stay the most the same is blood bowl. The game is almost perfect and the video games have a mode where you just play the board game. Ok, here is the problem with that then. Forge world pumps out a premium product, no doubt about it, but it's expensive... Really expensive. So you want them to put out nostalgic specialist games that would cost more than the normal GW price tag and expect to make it profitable? I'm not going to get into the Naming game but there are just too many companies doing similar games for far, far cheaper entry cost with far more reliable support than GW/few could ever hope to do. Best thing they could do is publish a cheap or free rule set, pump out some nice looking minis at a competitive price and hope for the best. But I'm guessing that won't happen. Sure, you will have the old time gamers who will buy the games but I just don't think GW/FW can pull that off. They are too infatuated with making a quick buck. I really, really hope I am wrong because I'd love to start up battle fleet gothic or start a necromunda/Mordheim gang. But until that happens I'll happily play equivalent games from different companies who actually stand by their game.

Don't give into the fear/hype everything will be ok. I don't think price will be as much of an issue as you fear.
@dave- could use that help. How about after Christmas so I can see what I got new.
