Hey guys, just thought of a funny thing today that I would like to share and I know that there are a lot of holes in this strategy but it brings a smile to my face thinking about it.
So you all know the overprices sad engine the Lord of Skulls, that point for point is probably not worth taking over a regular knight or the Kytan deamon engine for that matter. However I thought of a fun wrecking ball strategy involving this huge fat bastard and a bunch of hounds.
Unfortunately this sad sack has tank treads over the usual super heavy stomps. Sad right? Disappointing? Well you're wrong when I tell you that this man has a chance one shot any super heavy with its fatness using thunderblitz and a little help from some flesh puppies.
So pick out target, knight, wraith knight doesn't matter, try to make sure he doesn't get the charge you and get in close using hounds scout and basic move. Surround said target so hounds are one inch away, you don't even have to go all the way around because they are so fat it will be very difficult to move around the hounds. Then run full speed with the big man himself so he lands right on top, and inch into or whatever right into said target. He immediately passing the moral check but sense you landed on top of him he has to move the min distance 1 inch away from the Lord of Skulls and if he can't move that min distance the model is immediately moved as a casualty without any save of any kind allowed. With the hounds surrounding the target, it can't move the min distance and poof! Its gone! Even if the knight want to do Death or Glory, they only get one auto hit and it only stops the lord on an explode result considering super heavy's ignore effects of immobilized and crew stunned and this seems like an effect of crew stunned and immobilized. If he fails to explode you then you remove it as a casualty anyways, so its a win win!
I know that there are a lot of things to consider like preventing the charge from the target, baiting him and movement of models but I feel like its definitely doable especially so if they guy doesn't see it coming and sense one has anyone heard of their knight dying to a thunderblitz. I just thought it was super funny and wanted to share, enjoy, let me know your thoughts and if I messed up some rules and have a nice day!
