So the new rules for wulfen have dropped and I can't imagine a unit as brutal for the points cost allotted. natfka.blogspot.com/2016/01/the-wulfen-rules-german-leaked-images.htmlI'm kinda freaking out over the awesomeness of these rules. They are brutally effective and to a degree downright ridiculous. Im in love with the return of the wulfen, but lets discuss how best to use them.

Frost claws are brutal! +1 str, AP2 and shred!!!
Two handed frost axe is +3 str AP2 Strikes at initiative on the charge!!
But yeah, Str.10 hammers, 3++ on a two wound model is soooo good. Due to their 4+ save grav isn't getting the bang for the buck as usual. Granted, mass Grav cannon w/ amps will still fuck someone up.

When it comes to rules on assault units GW is starting to learn it seems. They get to run and charge, they can reroll their charge, they have 2W for durability and have affordable weapons options.
I am excited to see what Daemon formations this book brings, I might just have to get it.

Their rules are pretty awesome, I was thinking the best way to use them would be to throw them in drop pods with storm shields and hammers. If they get into combat they will always have a swing with a hammer hit. You could also use them kinda like a distraction carnifex with thunderwolf cavalry. Have them run or in an assault vehicle flanking with thunderwolf cavalry.

I think they are bulky so that means six in a pod right? I think smaller units of these guys is a great bet because they will pretty much crush whatever they hit and a unit too large is just wasted overkill. I think pods are a great idea because you only need to get through one round of shooting. Strength 8 gets past their FNP so yeah...take those storm shields heh

If they are bulky they are 5 per pod (pods can only hold 10). Large blobs of wulfen are definitely a waste.
