Yes you may summon skeletons. Key word being "may". I run daemons and summoning doesn't always work. And then when your caster is dead then what? No more summoning. Flyers can get to casters very easy. So it's still a 12 wound unit of three ogres with twelve attacks at two damage each for possible twenty four damage and twelve wounds vs. ten attacks for possible eleven wounds of damage. So ogre unit is guaranteed to live while skeletons could possibly be killed in one turn. For the same points cost. I just think that ogres are too powerful for just one point for three of them. They need to update skeletons points cost or have ogres at two points for three.

Of the systems that we have looked at, this one seems to be the most balanced. Understandably there are units that suffer in this system, but no single army is deficient in this system (unlike many of the others that we have carefully looked through).
As far as the guarantee of death you mentioned, nothing in AoS is certain until the last attack in the final round. For instance, take the 0pt. Warhost "Tomb Legion" and you should have much less of a problem withstanding that ogres unit with potential extra attacks and potential ignoring of both mortal and regular wounds. You also naturally have the D6 slain return to the unit rule for your icon bearer that is restricted to only a few units in a few armies in the game. I have seen that one rule alone save my game a few times - especially in scenarios that VP are based on % of models slain.
***Just to clarify something here, "raise skeletons" will not be counted as a Summoning spell as it does not use that specific key word, so you would not have the restrictions on this spell that each of the other summoning armies would be dealing with (i.e. if you have six casters, you could summon up to six points worth of them per. turn or 12pts if you rolls REALLY well, while others will only be able to summon up the max amount of each game which is between 4pts. and 15pts.).

I cannot make this event due to work obligations, but I am really glad to see it up. It looks fun and it has prompted me to look into AoS rules, scrolls and funness.
Going to try to get some games in of it at some point, I really like the streamlined rules.

So, I went to this(no Kevin?!?!). great time. We had 10 players, Lots of newer players in the process of painting their armies, and a few old vets with painted armies. I ended up going 3-1 and finished 4th. Can`t wait to do another AOS tourney

I wanted to be there but I threw out my back last week and there was no way I could have stood over a table all day.

That sucks pretty damn bad. You could have used a harness and had Travis hang you from the ceiling and moved your models mission impossible style.
Btw, Travis said he's going to have a big walking dead game presence at the store. If you haven't, might want to get in on the kickstarter.

I am glad this went so well, I was on travel but if there is another event I definitely want to get to it. AoS really intrigues me - especially since I can use my Daemons for it and supplement in some of the cool Chaos models.
