Stupid mini update. Did some edging and detailing on the herald. Started adding to the MC bases for more rubric points. Each base has a rotted corpse, several branches with the same seeds as on the models, and a broken up skeleton. The whole thing is covered in white glue and super glue using the same technique as the warped flesh. Going ahead with the "Nurgle's Garden" theme. Stupid blurry pic, I can never tell on my iphone screen and then it's too late to take another. Just fitting one DP on the new base.

Back to work on the GUO. Airbrushed white to black on grey primer. The usual zenithial technique. Using the flesh toned daemons from koska's link as inspiration, I start layering in washes. He's got some flesh tone, purple, red, blue, and green washes in some areas here. They're going in ever so lightly so they may be undetectable at this point. Close up to show some of the new textures from the glue sculpting technique.

More layering washes. Does this rash look bad?

Still adding base tone washes, but nearly finished. Just need to do some work on the arms and sword. Also experimented with a white background and different lighting. This model is so hard to capture it's infuriating. The colors are so light and desaturated that on the black background, you lose any sense of color. His pose makes it hard to find an angle that looks good as a still shot also. Anyways, once the acrylic washes are complete, I'll be hitting him with the gloss varnish and oil washes. Normally, I only do a single black oil wash. For this guy, I'm planning on layering black, brown, grey, and red oil paint washes so here's hoping it works well.

Yeah the process requires a good grasp of how each step is important to the final look, as the model doesn't look like much until the washes, varnishes, and drybrushing all comes together.
Still not happy with the pics tho. They look better on my iphone, but when I sit down and see the thread on a real computer it's a let down.
On the bright side, I found a model in my scouring of the internet that's going to fit my "Nurgle's Garden" theme perfectly with a bit of converting. It's given me a new drive to finish everything up with a final concept to scale up to 1850 for DaBoyz.
I also grabbed a bunch of supplies to build a custom display for this army that will also serve as a carrying case for my summoning fodder.
Hopefully I can get it all done in 5 weeks for B&WB.

Spent last night doing oil washes on the 3 MC's to bring them up to the same level of detail. Just need to work on metals, trims, and bases now. This will be the last update until after the September tournament. I need to work on assembling the models to bolster the 1250pt core up to 1850pts as well as my daemons to summon so nothing but grey plastic for a while.
