I think you need the yellow. It gives the eye somewhere to focus on.
Have you decided the basing for this army? I don't think i've ever seen anything other than flying bases on your models up until now.
Are you putting any color splashes on the fire warriors?

I think I'm going with "winter rubble" with enough city rubble elements and a thin dusting of snow to look good on both of my table war mats.
I dug up a water spray basing technique that would be awesome under the drones and jet infantry, making them look like they're hovering over water and forcing it up in a circular spray. But it would make for tough choices in basing the fire warriors and broadsides.
I'll prolly do a white and orange panel on the fire warriors legs or gun. May even venture out and do the kroot with orange skin. Or paint the piranhas primary blue/grey with orange drones, so when the 10 drones deparate they become a primarily orange unit. Overall, every unit will have blue/grey, white, and orange in varying amounts.

I think if you orange the kroot it may be too much. You could still do a nice green or gasp.....even purple to set them apart as xenos subjects to a xenos.

A desaturated/pastel purple would be doable, similar to my purple daemon prince. The lower legs on the fire warriors, the only part of the model showing skin, is painted a light purple. You really think kroot the color of the broadside missiles/y'varha torso would look bad?

For the Kroot, you could use reds/blood to really pop against the snow. That new technical blood works well.

Tamiya Clear Red is what most of the old school CMON vets use for their blood effects. Started detailing the Y'varha last night. The models evolve so much from airbrushing to edging to weathering so I like to jump around and do portions of each model so I can visualize how complete units will look within the army.

That's the coolest. I can't wait to see all that on a table.

are you going to do some awesome edging like your wraith knight?

Edging? Or freehand? Not sure which part of the wraithknight you're referencing.

Fire it up! Lit the engines with some OSL tonight. This will be my most ambitious OSL project. I think it pulls everything nicely.

Yep, that OSL really makes the models come together. Puts in detail to replace the detail you get from brush painting. Really liking how this army is turning out, Aaron.

Thanks G. Last night's session was weathering and battle damage.

Still a WIP but I had some time so I tossed it in the light box to get shots of the massive jet pack.
