Low leadership can be countered by an etheral, and bs3 isnt bade when everything is TL. i am a bit annoyed they took no nerf especilly seeing how i think they are one of the top tier armies

after my round 4 against tau.....Im really not impressed by them anymore. force them to take ld tests, or paroxysm them and they are hurting. they are a great ally but so far seem to be hurting solo. hopefully the ghostkneel leads to some cool new lists.

I don't think any tau made top 10 at daboyz right? One of the Canadian guys ran a Tau/Knight list and got 15th place, 2 above yours. According to the list, there were only 2 other "pure" Tau players besides you. Everyone else who ran Tau allied with other factions.

That Tau/Knight guy also had a culuxus assassin and kicked my ass lol. But he was a great guy.

So I started my first ghostkeel. Only one session in so far with a long way to go. I can't stand the GW paint jobs. Nothing about them depicts their fluff or abilities, so I wanted something very different. Black is the obvious go-to for steal/shrouded, but I wanted to take it a step further with the blue ripple-shimmer to represent the various fields on the suit. The model is just airbrushed thus far, with a little edging on the top half of the torso. There's going to be a lot of edging with several different shades, and I'm going to freehand some white lighting/ripple effects along the blue airbrushed paths. It should look pretty sweet in the end.

Nice, gives me some ideas for how to paint night lords. Really cool effect for that model with it's fluff

Thanks dude. Session #2 went down tonight. Gotta figure out how to work in some differentials on the black armor. Pretty happy with it so far tho. Making it work on regular stealth suits is going to be a challenge.

Progress is slow cuz work is crazy now on the holiday stretch. But there's a little progress. Lots of hard edges to paint... sooo many edges. It's gonna take a while.

Great progress on this model! Can't wait to see the model completed! Aren't you adding two more into the unit?
What's on the hobby to-do list in general?

Hobby to-do list is more of a bucket list right now. With xmas 3 weeks away, Valentine's Day 6 weeks after that, and Easter 6 weeks after that, I won't be very productive. I'm already working 60hrs a week.
I did buy 3 ghostkeels, as well as Nedley's 2 hammerheads and riptide, so I have the models to run full fire teams of each unit now.
I quit assembling ghostkeels cuz I needed a painting break and I started to second guess a full fire team costing 450pts vs single 'keels in a MSU list. Since I'm still undecided on list concepts, I'm just painting a little at a time when I have energy at the end of the day.
Plus, Jon is commissioning me to paint 4 Chaos Knights starting very soon, so his models will get priority until they're all done.

Those look outstanding - I love the concept of them phasing in/out of view with the blues.
